The Silver Spring Buy Local Guide is a printed map of the Silver Spring Central Business District with over 200 listings for a diverse array of local sources for what you may shop for on a regular basis. There are many reasons to choose to shop at locally-owned, independent businesses, including the fact that each dollar you spend at a local, independent business will circulate several times within the local economy, and over 2/3 of it stays in the community.
It is not always possible to buy everything you need from locally-owned businesses, but the point of this campaign is to encourage you to "think local first".
